LIGHT BULBS

If your light bulb is defective for any reason within the first 6 months of receiving the bulb, please reach out to Bicycle Glass Co. customer service to receive warranty replacement bulb(s). All replacement bulbs must be the same wattage as the original defective bulb. Unused light bulbs may be returned under our normal return policy. Bicycle Glass Co. does not accept returns on used light bulbs. Our light bulbs are designed to work in the United States and Canada and are rated for 110 - 120v nominally. Our bulbs will not work in countries or areas where the incoming electricity is 220v or higher.

If you are interested in sourcing your own light bulbs, you can. Any light bulbs you source just have to match the following criteria. The bulb must be a standard/medium (E26/E27) base bulb. The light bulb must not exceed the 60-watt max rating of our hardware. The light bulb must be designed for 110-120v. 

 

MATERIALS

All of our glass is made by hand in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

 

VARIATIONS

Each piece is handmade and hand assembled. No two pieces will be exactly alike. Slight variations in the dimension, shape and color as well as small bubbles and inclusions are normal and expected. Pieces are grouped by purchase order, and multiple quantities of the same product will be matched as closely as possible. Products from separate purchase orders may vary in size, shape, color, and materials used. We reserve the right to make any necessary changes in content or price or to discontinue items at our discretion.

 

PRODUCTION / LEAD TIMES

Because all of our glass products are hand-crafted by artisans, there is a lead time for each of our products. Lead times vary based on the size and style of glass and are posted on each product's listing. Lead time estimates are based on current production schedules. The "Up To" refers to longest projected wait times, but it is possible for your order to ship at any time prior. If you need your order to be held for any reason or any length of time, please reach out to let us know as soon as your order is placed. Lead times depend on the timely receipt of all required paperwork and payments. Rush order availability is dependent on production schedules and cannot be guaranteed. All orders are produced individually by hand, and the quality of the products is our primary concern; therefore, delays may occur in manufacturing, especially with custom orders. The precise time of production and delivery is not a condition of sale.

 

CUSTOM ORDERS

At Bicycle Glass Co. we enjoy doing custom projects for customers. Requests for custom work may be submitted for approval and pricing by returning a completed Contact Form. A retainer will be required for any working drawings, renderings, or prototypes requested prior to receipt of confirmed order and deposit. A written purchase order and deposit are required to put an order into production. We do not color match. Custom orders will be subject to individually appropriate lead times due to the unique requirements of each project . All sales are final. There are absolutely no order edits, returns, exchanges, or refunds on custom work or on products with custom changes of any kind. Custom orders are final after the order is placed. Changes to custom order parts are not permitted once the order is placed.

 

STANDARD INCLUDED COMPONENTS

All lighting fixtures are shipped with bulbs, canopies/socket sets and wiring instructions. All line voltage pendants include a matching finish canopy and associated hardware. They are ready to be wired to standard junction box. Pendants come with standard 4’ of adjustable cord. This can be cut in the field to desired length. Custom lengths are possible for an extra surcharge.

LEDs

All of our lights are standard LEDs as part of our company's overall commitment to the environment

 

DIMMERS

Line Voltage fixtures are compatible with most (but not all) standard dimmers. However, LEDs do require special dimmers to work appropriately. Please consult with your local licensed installer if you have questions.

 

UL/ETL LISTING

We use UL/ETL listed components in all our lighting products. Our lighting is NOT listed for outdoor or wet locations with the exception of our Exterior Sconce hardware. Custom requests may require changes that are outside of UL regulations. If UL listing is required for a custom fixture, please specify at the time of order. Additional charges may apply if UL listing is required. Please consult all local rules, regulations, and codes regarding the electrical listing requirements for your intended application.


INSTALLATION

All lighting hardware must be installed by a licensed contractor. Instructions are supplied with all standard lighting products. It is the responsibility of the contractor to read and follow these instructions carefully. Failure to follow these specifications could result in breakage and damages. Bicycle Glass Co. and its parent company Boyd and Royce LLC are not responsible for damage due to failure to follow specifications outlined. It is the end user’s responsibility to read and follow these instructions carefully. Lighting must be installed according to local laws and regulations. 

 

REPLACEMENT PARTS

Component parts may be available separately upon request. Please give us a call if you want a component part without the glass. Replacement lighting parts may be provided only to existing customers with original purchase order number. Please have your original order information available when contacting us to request replacement parts. Replacement light bulbs can be sourced through most larger bulb suppliers.

 

WARRANTY

A one-year warranty applies to parts and components only. This does not include light bulbs. A six-month warranty applies for all light bulbs. However, Bicycle Glass Co. will not accept returns on any light bulbs once they have been shipped to a customer. If the product has been improperly installed, tampered with, or altered in any way, the warranty is null and void. Bicycle Glass Co. may require images and/or the return of any damaged, failed, or faulty parts and components. 

 

SHIPPING AND HANDLING

Hand blown glass takes time.  All orders are processed the in the order in which they are received and items are hand made to order.  Please allow, on average, 8-12 weeks for your lights to be made one at a time by hand at our facility and shipped to you.  If you have questions on where your order is in production please fill out the contact form and we will get back to you immediately.  

Additionally, we do have the option to ship the hardware out ahead of schedule to keep your contractor on schedule.  The hardware is all that is generally necessary for a contractor to install the electrical components.  The globes are very easy to install after the fact.  This option is available with nearly all of our lighting and can be an excellent option to keep projects and contractors on schedule. This option may require a fee for the additional cost of shipping and handling. 

NOTE: The Fast shipment option for hardware and bulbs is only available in the lower 48 states.  Please reach out to customer service if you are in Alaska or Hawaii and need this additional service for a custom quote. 

All items are shipped FOB Minneapolis, MN. Our standard shipping method is FedEx Ground. Our products are extremely fragile and the original packaging is rated for one way only. Please notify your driver immediately if you suspect any damage in shipment otherwise the carrier assumes no liability once you sign for the package, making returns very difficult. If you see damage to the box or you hear loose contents in the box either refuse the shipment or open it while the driver waits. Notify Bicycle Glass immediately at info@bicycleglass.com if any such damage is noticed.  Shipments ship without a signature required by default. If you would like a signature to be required please call us or add it to your order. 

Please inspect all contents immediately upon receipt of the package to make sure all items are there as well as no item is damaged.  If damage is not reported within 14 days of receipt of shipment being delivered Bicycle Glass will assume that the items arrived in complete condition without damage. 

Bicycle Glass is not liable for any scheduling or rescheduling of certified electricians or contracts due to shipping errors. Please wait until the order has been shipped and shows tracking information to schedule any contractors.

 

PUTTING ORDERS ON HOLD

Individual orders can have their shipping date delayed for no more than 6-months after the original order date. The estimated lead time or shipping time will not be subtracted from the designated 6-month holding period. After the 6-month holding period, the order will be shipped out to the shipping address on file. An email with a tracking number will be provided to the customer when the order ships out. Bicycle Glass Co. is not liable if an order is shipped to an address that is inconvenient to the customer. If no valid shipping address is provided at the time the order is created, the order will be canceled, the individual items will be unboxed and reused for future orders, and the customer will be issued a full refund for items not received.

INTERNATIONAL ORDERS

Customers outside of the United States are solely responsible for shipping fees, customs, duties or VAT taxes that may be applied. To determine shipping costs, send our team a list of what you would like to purchase and the full shipping address you would like your lights shipped to. Our light bulbs are 110v not compatible in countries where the voltage is different than 110v. Our bulbs are compatible in the United States and Canada. Our fixtures are capable of supporting standard/ medium (E26/ E27) base bulbs, so sourcing your own should not be an issue. Color samples are not available for  international customers

 

RETURNS AND EXCHANGES


All standard pieces can be returned up to 30 days after the order has been received. This is based on the delivery date provided by the tracking number tied to the last part of the order received. Customers can reach out to Bicycle Glass about a return or exchange by emailing info@bicycleglass.com. Customers must contact a Bicycle Glass Co. customer service representative before returning a fixture. Any returns received without prior authorization may not be subject to a refund. After this period Bicycle Glass Co. reserves the sole discretion to handle returns on a case by case basis. A restocking fee of up to 25% can be applied to any return outside of the 30 day window.

All custom sales are final. Custom hardware and custom glass cannot be returned. Bicycle Glass Co. reserves the sole discretion to handle returns for custom hardware and glass on a case by case basis.

Within the first 14 days after an order has been received if the piece is delivered damaged we ask that the customer take pictures of the box it was shipped in, the shipping label on the box and the broken piece itself and send these to info@bicycleglass.com. Bicycle Glass Co. needs this information in order to file a shipping claim with the appropriate mail carrier service. We do not need broken glass shipped back to us.

Undamaged shades can be exchanged up to 60 days after the order was received. Exchanges outside those 60 days are handled on a case by case basis. Customers may be expected to pay the return shipping costs of all exchanges. If the replacement glass is a different price from the original piece then customers are expected to pay the difference. We ask that the customer call us in order to do an exchange. When shipping back glass, please repackage the glass you are returning in the same manner it was shipped to you with inner and outer boxes and a minimum of three inches of packaging between the glass and the box. Ensure that the inner boxes do not move when the outer box is shaken, and mail the return/exchange to us at:

We also ask that customers put their name and the order number on the package so we can process it properly. Once we have received the unwanted glass in resale condition, we will put in the replacement glass order. If the piece is returned broken or not in resale condition then the refund will not be processed. Bicycle Glass reserves the right to add an additional restocking fee for any exchanges.

90 days after a glass shade has been delivered that glass can no longer be returned or exchanged for a partial or full refund. Replacement orders may be available and Bicycle Glass Co. reserves the right to handle replacement orders on a case by case basis.

Any replacement order that is authorized does not allow the original glass to be returned or exchanged for a partial or full refund. Bicycle Glass Co. reserves the right to make any changes to the mold size, shape or glass blowing technique to any piece in our catalog. Given the changes that may be made to the technique of our glassmaking process, Bicycle Glass Co. cannot guarantee that any new replacement shade or set of shades made will match well to a shade or set of shades that are over 90 days old.

Any communication about a return or exchange that has been authorized by Bicycle Glass Co. may only continue to be authorized up to 30 days from the last form of written communication. After this point the authorization is expired and a refund or exchange may not be applied. It is the responsibility of the customer to respond to all return or exchange communication from Bicycle Glass Co. in a timely manner in order for Bicycle Glass Co. to facilitate the return or exchange as quickly and effectively as possible.

Fast Shipping of Hardware & Bulbs is an additional service charge that may be applied to have hardware and light bulbs shipped out ahead of the glass. This fee is for the labor cost of our shippers packing and shipping additional boxes as well as the cost of the shipment itself which gets forwarded to our carriers. Due to being a service and not a product that can be returned, this cost is not subject to a refund.

For international customers any change in local currency in comparison to the USD from the date of the original order to the date of a return or exchange will not be compensate by Bicycle Glass Co. If the local currency has caused the price of the product to go up or down that will not be factored into any refunds that may apply. All refunds are calculated based on the USD amount and are converted into the local currency afterward.
