A Fun Way to Visualize Your Lighting: Using Balloons to Plan Your Space
We love finding creative ways to make our lighting fixtures work seamlessly in your space. One of our customers, Jean B., recently came up with a fun and lightweight solution to help visualize how our lights would look before committing to a purchase: balloons!
Here’s how she did it, and how you can too:
How to Use Balloons to Visualize Your Lighting
💡 Pick Your Light
Go to the product page for the Bicycle Glass pendant you're interested in. Each product page features dimensions for both the shade and hardware. For example, the 763 globe in the 700 Series is 6" in diameter, the 767 is 7.75", and the 768 is 9.5".

🎈 Blow Up Your Balloons
Using the dimensions listed on the product page, blow up a balloon to the size of the light shade, measuring around the middle.
♻️ Use Scrap Materials
Check out your recycling bin for scrap cardboard to make makeshift bases or hangers for your balloons. The canopy is 5" wide for most of our pendants, with the larger round canopies being 12" for the 3-light chandelier. Not only is this eco-friendly, but it’s also a great way to repurpose materials you already have!
🏡 Hang the Balloons
Once your balloons are inflated, hang them from the ceiling in the desired locations. This gives you a quick and simple way to get a feel for how the light will look in your space. It’s lightweight and easy to move the balloons around to experiment with placement!
