Ordering Glass Shades without Hardware
Bicycle Glass pendants are great, but what if you need just the glass globes and none of the hardware? We have you covered. It's easy to order just the shades, we will show you how below.
Bicycle Glass makes beautiful pendant lights from post consumer glass, right here in Minnesota. There are lots of reasons that you may not need the hardware, the most typical is that you may already have hardware from a previous pendant light and would just like a nice new shade to go on that pendant hardware and just skip all the electrical work.
The great news is that this is very doable and Bicycle Glass sells just the shades all the time. There are a few key things to keep in mind to make sure that this will work well for your space.
- Type of attachment
Bicycle Glass pendant lights work really well with e26 medium base bulb socket sets that use a shade ring to affix the glass to the hardware by screwing the shade ring up onto the socket set and compressing the glass shade to the pendant hardware.
- Hole Size in Glass
Bicycle glass drills a 1.75" diameter hole in the top of each of its hand made glass shades. This is a standard diameter hole that allows for a little bit of wiggle room. You will want to measure your existing shade's hole as well as the hardware that it will be attaching to. This small effort will help ensure that your new Bicycle Glass globe will easily fit onto your existing hardware.
- Customization
