A Bright Modernizing Kitchen Update
Share
Updating a 27-year-old kitchen that had seen better days is no small task. Susan Romie wanted to refresh her kitchen with a modern look while maximizing the space for plentiful storage. Here’s how she transformed her dated kitchen into a stunning, functional space!
The Spark of Inspiration: A Blue Backsplash
The first spark of inspiration for Susan's kitchen renovation was a blue, painted-glass backsplash tile. This tile was more than just a splash of color; it had beautiful swirls of blue hues and was crafted in an arabesque pattern that added an elegant, intricate touch to the space. Susan fell in love with the tile the moment she saw it. With the blue backsplash tile setting the theme, Susan began selecting other design elements that would complement this piece. She opted for modern cabinetry in a crisp white finish to create a clean and airy feel.
The Role of Lighting: Adding the Perfect Touch
Lighting plays a crucial role in any kitchen design, and Susan wanted fixtures that would complement her arabesque tiles and enhance the overall ambiance of the space. During her search for the perfect lighting, she discovered Bicycle Glass Co.'s blue Swell pendants.
"When I discovered the Bicycle Glass Co. blue Swell pendants, I found the perfect lighting match!," Susan explained.
Susan chose a three-pendant linear chandelier to hang over the kitchen table, creating a striking visual centerpiece. She also added a single Swell pendant over the sink, ensuring that the lighting was cohesive throughout the kitchen.
