The Human Touch Behind Every Piece

The Human Touch Behind Every Piece

In a world of next-day shipping and mass production, we’ve chosen a different path, one that’s slower, more intentional, and more meaningful. At Bicycle Glass, every piece we create is handblown in Minnesota by a real person.

Handmade Makes a Difference

When we say “handmade,” we mean it. Every glass globe is formed one at a time by a skilled artist. This level of craftsmanship simply can’t be replicated by machines.  It’s a challenging material to work with, but our artists make it look effortless, shaping, spinning, and perfecting each one.

Our glass, made from locally sources recycled bottles and jars, has natural variations and inclusions that give it character. No two pieces are exactly the same, and that’s what makes them beautiful.

Supporting Artists, Not Just Art

Handmade means more than just how it’s made, it means who is making it.

We’re proud to offer full-time jobs to talented artists from across the Midwest doing what they love every day. In a world where many craftspeople are forced to treat their passion as a side hustle, we’ve built a studio where artistry is the job.

Our studio gives artists a place to grow, thrive, and bring their skills to every light fixture we send out the door.

Made in the USA, Made with Purpose

We do everything right here in Minneapolis, Minnesota—from melting down the glass to boxing up the final product. We source our raw materials from nearby recycling facilities and even collect cardboard and glass from our own community to use in our process.

Because we make everything to order, we avoid waste and only produce what’s needed. No overproduction, no big warehouses full of unsold inventory. Just thoughtful, intentional work, start to finish.

A Light That Means More

Lighting can do more than brighten a room. It can tell a story: of sustainability, of craftsmanship, of people who care deeply about what they make. The result? Lighting that’s not only beautiful, but durable, unique, and full of life.

Thank you for supporting handmade.
