As a company that designs and produces our lighting right here in Minnesota, using 100% recycled glass, we love celebrating American craftsmanship and history alike.

President Washington is the only U.S. president ever elected unanimously by the Electoral College. After stepping down from office, he returned to Mount Vernon and later established a whiskey distillery there. By 1799, it had become one of the largest distilleries in the country, producing thousands of gallons of rye whiskey each year.

In his younger years, he was also an accomplished wrestler, thought to have only ever lost one match. He was also the first U.S. president to wear a beard, a look he adopted after receiving a letter from a young girl who suggested it would suit him.
